Student practice - an opportunity to reinforce how to generate better ideas
Lesson two includes a detailed lesson plan, a slideshow and multiple prompts to guide student learning
Hi everyone!
In the first set of activities, students were introduced to the success criteria for generating ideas. All the subsequent tasks should strive to reinforce and develop understanding of the success criteria for all students. As students work through the activities or tasks, we gather evidence of their understanding and determine our next steps.
In this new activity, students will work with a new prompt for which they must generate ideas. Students then select the strongest idea(s) based on the success criteria. Students will have independent time, collaborative time and receive feedback so they know how they are doing. Next steps (as determined by you and based on the success criteria) will target the learning needs of the class.
Here is a snapshot of what is included. A geography, language and science prompt have been provided as examples/options.
Have fun with this and make adjustments to suit your class and teaching style. I know there are so many ideas within this that require their own discussions - and I will try to get to them all!
